Long-Term Radiation Exposure Study on Materials and Electronic Components

Case Study:Long-Term Radiation Exposure Study on Materials and Electronic Components

A research team used HT-Nova’s radiation monitoring equipment to conduct long-term studies on how different gamma dose rates affect the performance of materials and electronic components, supporting reliability research in nuclear energy, aerospace and defense.

Experimental setup:
Gamma radiation sources and multiple dose-rate monitoring devices were installed inside a radiation laboratory to precisely control and record sample exposure conditions.

Continuous monitoring:
Throughout the experiment, monitoring devices tracked dose rate and cumulative dose in real time, while researchers conducted periodic evaluations of sample performance, including electronic functionality and structural changes.

Result analysis:
By correlating radiation exposure data with material performance curves, the research team gained insight into how radiation affects material degradation, contributing to the development of predictive models and reliability assessments.

Industry applications:
The findings support material selection for nuclear facilities, radiation-hardened aerospace components and durability evaluation for defense equipment.
