RG800 is a multi-functional nuclear and radiation detector covering both radiation dose rate and surface contamination. It measures alpha and beta surface contamination alongside X-ray and gamma dose rates and accumulated dose, alerting personnel through configurable audible, visual and vibration alarms.

Radiological assessment normally needs two instruments: one for the field around you and one for what has settled on surfaces. RG800 covers both, which means a team entering an area carries a single device and can move between the two questions without changing equipment.
The detector is built as a central unit with a dose-rate measuring unit and a surface-contamination measuring unit, connected by four-core cables that carry both power and real-time communication. Because the units are separate, the measuring head can be positioned where the reading is needed while the operator keeps hold of the central unit and stays back from the surface - the arrangement extends reach by at least two metres for wider coverage.
Alarm thresholds are set to the task, and warnings arrive as sound, flashing light and vibration together so they register through protective equipment and in noise. The build is rugged, for use where contamination is being surveyed rather than in controlled conditions.
