CR-A01 is an enhanced narcotics detection kit that works together with HT-Nova Raman spectrometers. Using HT-FAITHS® enhanced detection technology, it extends on-site Raman analysis to trace substances including fentanyl, pesticide residues and toxic food additives.

Raman spectroscopy identifies what is in front of it well, but a trace quantity can sit below the level at which a clean spectrum can be obtained. CR-A01 addresses that limit chemically rather than optically: the enhancement reagent raises the signal from a very small amount of material so the spectrometer can work with it.
That is what brings substances like fentanyl into reach of a handheld instrument at the roadside, along with pesticide residues and toxic food additives in inspection work. Detection limits reach the ppm level, and an accurate result is available within about one minute - fast enough to be part of a check rather than a separate procedure.
The kit is used in conjunction with a Raman spectrometer rather than on its own. Its reagents are formulated for a longer shelf life and stable performance, which matters for equipment that is held ready over long periods and used unpredictably.
